The star of Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender series has teased another as-yet-unannounced cast member. As fans eagerly await any news about the live-action adaptation, the best they can come by now are casting announcements. The hope is that Netflix’s new project can manage to live up to the high bar set by the original animated series.
Created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, the original Avatar: The Last Airbender ran on Nickelodeon for three seasons between 2005 and 2008. A hybrid of anime and traditional American animation brought US audiences many unique Asian-inspired cartoon styles. It told a breathtaking story that captured the hearts and imaginations of its fans. After the failed live-action movie adaptation by M. Night Shyamalan, fans are eager to see the franchise brought to life successfully, thus the attention given to Netflix’s new series.
