EXCERPT:

The Flash is bringing back fan-favorite character XS in Season 7. With news that Bart Allen was joining the series soon, fans had already started speculating about what other Allen family members would appear in Season 7. Now they can finally officially add the long-lost Nora West-Allen to that list.

Nora first appeared in Season 4, though she did not reveal who she was until the finale. She was much more prominent in Season 5, as her heroic persona “XS” teamed up with Barry, who also mentored her, as they fought against the Cicada threat. Eventually, she revealed her connections to the future Eobard Thawne, who was helping her learn to use her abilities. In reality, he was using her to break free from prison before his execution date. Nora was erased from the timeline in the Season 5 finale when she and Team Flash managed to defeat the second Cicada and Thawne, though Barry and Iris kept up hope that they would see her again one day.

TV Line Reveals 1st Image Arrowverse Fuerza for FLASH S7

EXCERPT:

A new still image released by The Flash has revealed the human form of the Arrowverse’s Fuerza. Even though the villain appeared in the fourth episode of season 7, until this point, both Team Flash and the audience had only seen her in her Strength Force form. Now, the show will finally reveal who she is when she is not hulking around Central City.

So far the bulk of the story-line, or “Graphic Novel” for The Flash season 7 has been planting the seeds for the team to discover the mysterious new Forces that have shown up in Central City. Seemingly as powerful as the Speed Force itself, who they have already attacked and injured once, the new Forces include the Sage Force, Still Force, and the Strength Force. As for the abilities of each Force, Strength seems to be all about raw power, while the powers of Sage and Still are based on psychic and time-altering abilities respectively.

EXCERPT:

Obi-Wan Kenobi star Ewan McGregor found the Star Wars prequels’ scripts and reliance on green screen sets a real challenge. A lot of diehard fans had issues with George Lucas’s prequel films when they were initially released, criticizing the wooden dialogue and CGI-heavy visual effects sequences. However, for many, McGregor’s Obi-Wan was one of the bright-spots in the series.

McGregor was chosen to play the younger version of Sir Alec Guinness’s Obi-Wan Kenobi from the original Star Wars back in 1999 for The Phantom Menace. He continued the role throughout the prequel trilogy as Lucas continued the story of Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the dark side despite the best efforts of his friend and mentor, McGregor’s Obi-Wan. The last time audiences saw McGregor in the role was as Obi-Wan handed baby Luke Skywalker to his aunt and uncle beneath the setting suns of Tatooine, setting the stage for where audiences would find the young hero in the original trilogy.

Flintstones Sequel In Works with Elizabeth Banks as Pebbles

EXCERPT:

There is a Flintstones reboot on the way, this time a sequel series with Elizabeth Banks starring as adult Pebbles. While not the first attempt to bring back the first family of prime-time television, there is clearly a lot of interest based on the number of films and adaptations that have been made over the years. But the real question may be whether or not audiences will still find the prehistoric family as entertaining as they were almost 60 years ago.

Premiering in 1960 as the first animated primetime series, The Flintstones was a big gamble by legendary production company Hanna-Barbera. They were lucky enough to convince ABC to give them a prime-time slot, and they aptly used that time to craft a series beloved by kids and parents alike, though never that well received by critics. Regardless, by the end of its six-season, 166-episode run, The Flintstones had cemented its place in television history. With catchphrases like “Yabba-dabba do!,” its iconic theme song, and being the first animated show nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award, audiences would not soon forget TV’s original cartoon primetime family.

Movie Theater Concerns Outweigh James Camerons Box Office Wins

EXCERPT:

With Avatar 2 trudging toward its release date, James Cameron finds himself more concerned with the state of movie theaters right now than with box office success. Cameron’s original Avatar film was a wild success mainly due to the innovative 3D technology that enhanced the lush scenery of the world he had created and captured the imaginations of audiences around the world. People flocked to see the film over and over again, and have been waiting over a decade to see the continuation of the story.

Cameron has been hard at work on Avatar 2 for some time, with fans hearing tantalizing rumors about what they might expect, including an expanded cast, new worlds, resurrected characters, and oceanic cities alongside brand new technology allowing Cameron to film underwater in ways never seen before. With his attention to detail and demand to push the boundaries of technology, it’s not that surprising that the sequels to the original Avatar have taken this long to come to fruition.

The forces of Marvel and ESPN are coming together for a special NBA game featuring the Avengers. The unique broadcast continues a trend as ESPN reaches out to new viewers through targeted specials such as the recent “BetCast” for sports betting enthusiasts and “KidsCast” for younger viewers interested in a recent Little League Championship. If executed properly, tapping into the Marvel audience has the potential to entice yet another demographic of viewers to watch.

ESPN is not the only sports network trying this approach. There was an NFL Wild Card game on Nickelodeon this year with members of the sketch show “All That” doing commentary, complete with green slime and animated overlays to help keep the kids entertained. Meanwhile, the MLB Network is taking a more laid back approach and bringing on retired players including CC Sabathia and Carlos Pena to talk about an upcoming game “Clubhouse” style, encouraging them to speak as though they were at home watching and chatting with friends.

Dear White People's Justin Simiens Signs on to Direct Disneys Haunted Mansion

EXCERPT:

Disney’s new The Haunted Mansion movie adaptation has found a director with Justin Simien. The project has been in limbo for almost a decade now, with big names like Guillermo del Toro and Ryan Gosling once in talks to write and star. Now, the film seems to be picking up momentum once more.

The original movie version of the Haunted Mansion was released in 2003. Directed by Rob Minkoff, the film starred Eddie Murphy along with Terrance Stamp, Nathaniel Parker, Marsha Thomason, Jennifer Tilly and Dina Spybey. The movie was an attempt by Disney to capitalize on the famous theme park attraction of the same name as they had done with the successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Unfortunately, the horror comedy received a lukewarm reception from audiences and critics alike, and did not make enough at the box-office to be deemed a true success.

TFATWS Star Danny Ramirez Says Torres in Comics Inspired His Role

EXCERPT:

Despite the many differences from the source material, The Falcon and Winter Soldier star, Danny Ramirez, says he was still inspired by Joaquin Torres’s counterpart in the comics. In the series, Torres is introduced as a competent, and highly trained part of the US Military coordinating with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson, a.k.a., the Falcon. Yet fans of the young hero know that Torres has a very different origin in the comics.

During a period in Marvel comics when Sam Wilson had taken on the role of Captain America, he was called upon to rescue a Mexican teenager in Arizona who had been kidnapped by members of the Sons of the Serpent. Long story short, Sam discovered young Torres had been experimented upon by a man named Karl Malus and turned into a bird/human hybrid with wings, super hearing/vision, and healing. Not long after, when Sam was thrown out a window and Torres saved his life, Sam reluctantly took on the teenager as his new sidekick. Sam even let Torres use his old codename, and thus a new Falcon was born.

Spider-Verse Producer Defends Sony's Avi Arad After Spider-Man Backlash

EXCERPT:

After the backlash from fans over Sony’s Avi Arad’s involvement in the MCU’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home films, one of the producers of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse spoke out to defend his colleague. Arad is still producing Marvel Spider-Man content at Sony with productions like Venom 2 and Morbius. He is not as involved with the MCU films since the most recent negotiations in 2019. The question many fans have been asking is whether that was due to some of the alleged choices he made that they have been criticizing of late.

Arad has been producing Marvel and Spider-Man content for decades. As one of the founders of Marvel Studios, Arad was a large part of the early years of Marvel’s live-action films, though he left the studio right before the official MCU launched. Fans have been reacting to a story that blames Arad for many controversial choices the MCU Spider-Man franchise has made, including not mentioning the death of Uncle Ben and removing a scene with Captain America from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Cutdown of the 90s Style Poster for DCs Legends of Tomorrow Season 6

EXCERPT:

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has just released a new poster teasing the 90s vibes of the upcoming season. Long considered the black sheep of the CW’s Arrowverse, the fan-favorite is known for not taking itself quite as seriously as the other superhero dramas on the network. They are clearly continuing that trend for season 6.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow started off as a bit more ambitious of a series, taking a lot of heroes from various Arrowverse series and making a time-traveling team capable of stopping threats the individual heroes could not handle alone. The show received middling reviews for its freshman season, but oddly around the middle of season 2, it seemed to hit its stride. Amidst a number of a new cast members and a much less serious story, the writers found themselves having a bit more fun with the characters and poking fun at the world and the characters themselves. Now the series is a fan favorite for its whimsical takes on pop-culture, the super-hero medium, and their wacky season finales, one of which included all of the heroes joining their minds and, purely by accident, becoming a giant Beebo (an Arrowverse Furby) capable of taking down the big bad of the season.
